Day to day,
Manufacturing, repairing and replacing pipe work using a variety of industry standard materials
Documenting and reporting Dimension Control, Traceability and Quality standards.
Determining job requirements and planning/configuring equipment materials
Installations, inspections, diagnosing problems/faults/leeks, testing, repair and maintenance of various pipe systems.
day to day associated tasks:
Fabrication, Pipe bending, Welding, pipe fitting on sight (on board ship) Manual Handling, Housekeeping
Identify hazards, problems, defects and the need for replacement, adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety
Carry out planned tasks in accordance with contract/agreed requirements
Carry out tasks within agreed time limits
Ensure compliance to agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety
Report to Line Manager
Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its clients/customers to Line Manager
Collaborative team working to ensure targets are met and contribute to those of the team as a whole
Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures
You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Line Manager. You must contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation generally.
Essential experience of the Pipe Outfitter
To have achieved the qualifications and have completed an appropriate apprenticeship for Copper Smith, Pipe Fabrication
Experience in this type of job role – minimum 5 years
Requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade
To demonstrate knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for this role
To be friendly and approachable
To understand and deliver good customer service
Good attention to detail
To demonstrate good time management and aptitude
Must be in and maintain physical capability to handle the logistics of pipe fabrication and installation activities.
You need to have and maintain (with regular training and updates as necessary) the knowledge, technical skills and qualifications that are necessary to perform your job role to comply with the requirements of the Organisation and any applicable rules, regulations and with any law which applies to your job role.
This Role is based full time onsite at Rosyth
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
