Facilitate the creation and protection of IP within the company by proactively fostering collaboration and respect for IP and our IP processes
Become embedded strategic partner with business clients by developing close relationships with leadership and engineering community, understanding the commercial landscape of the business as well as our products and commercial offerings.
Providing strategic guidance to our inhouse business partners regarding patent matters, including landscape studies, competition portfolio reviews, freedom-to-operate opinions, invalidity opinions, etc
Managing outside counsel in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications
Facilitating regular patent committee meetings to review potential new intellectual property and existing portfolios
The new patent Engineer/IP manager will be a member of the IP Legal Team, with responsibility of advising/managing IP issues within our New Energy business segment in addition to also support Subsea business segment with new IP development as well as risk assessment and management.
You are meant for this job if you have:
MSc degree or higher in Engineering
Preferable 2-5 years’ experience practicing intellectual property law, at law firm, in house or at Patent Office and preferably passed the EQE
Good verbal and written communication in English is a must
Ability to work across multi-cultural teams
Self-motivated with ability to provide clear guidance to stakeholders
Creative problem-solving to mitigate risk while facilitating business interests
Some degree of travel will be included in the position

Position will report directly to IP Director located in Kongsberg and have no direct reports
Practicalities:
Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in Norway or UK, without sponsorship
