HSB Technical's Power & Propulsion team have a number of vacancies for multiple maritime businesses covering the UK and overseas.
This particular client I am recruiting for are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer. Working as the Mechanical Design Engineer you will: Undertake detail design of mechanical systems for the maritime industry. To include engineering activities from requirement analysis, sales support, specification and design, manufacturing support, testing, and through life technical support. The work covers both the development of new designs as well as support for existing systems.
HSB Technical's client is a well-established and highly regarded entity within the Power & Propulsion industry.
Ability to / Understanding of:
Design mechanical components for steel fabrication & assembly
Knowledge of manufacturing procedures, welding, machine shop, casting & forging techniques
Knowledge of classification society rules
Experience in manufacturing drawing generation for a production environment
Experience in use of MRP / ERP systems
We are looking for:
Someone who can cover all design engineering tasks associated with the production of original equipment manufactured products, predominantly marine hydraulically operated systems
Calculations to support contract, design, and class society requirements CAD modelling, drawing and generation checking
Customer and contact requirement analysis and specification
Engineering support for sales and estimating
Technical procedure and product manual writing
Development and testing of new designs and prototypes
Experience in 3D modelling and 2D design and drafting (PTC Creo 8 and AutoCAD)
Working knowledge of Mathcad Prime 8
Knowledge of finite element analysis (ANSYS workbench 2019)
Qualifications/Documents/Other Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline
Driving Licence
Ability to travel when required
