The Fife Area-Wide Psychology Service is a large (120 wte) well-provided service including adult, child, LD and clinical health specialties, with extensive involvement in training, research and service development. There are close links with D. Clin.Psych and MSc courses and CPD and research initiatives are well supported.

The Child and Family speciality has over 35 staff; clinical psychologists, CAAPs and Assistant psychologists, as well as trainee clinical psychologists and CAAPs. The specialty provides input to Early Intervention/Primary Care, CAMHS, Paediatrics and Neurodevelopmental Services.

We have a full time fixed term post available for a suitably qualified Clinical Associate (Masters in Applied Psychology for Children and Young People) to work in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in West Fife. You will be line managed within the child and family psychology specialty, but will be embedded in the West CAMHS team. You will have supervision and support from the CAMHS Psychology team and will work closely with other members of the CAMHS team and multi-agency services. We support a variety of therapeutic modalities including CBT, ACT, IPT and EMDR.

The Child and Family Psychology service vision is to provide high quality, evidence based assessments and interventions to all children and young people where there are concerns about their psychological wellbeing / mental health, from the universal to intensive / specialist level. Through the expansion of early intervention, group interventions and online services, we aim to increase accessibility and develop services to meet the changing needs of our target population, enabling children and young people to access care at the earliest opportunity.
