Our client is seeking an experienced Café Manager/Cook to manage the daily activities of the tearoom at their stunning Victorian castle overlooking the Firth of Forth. The successful candidate will oversee all operations of the café, including hiring, training, and supervising staff, cooking, inventory management, budgeting, and developing fresh menu options.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily operations of the café, including cooking.
- Hire, train, and supervise café staff, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
- Create weekly staff schedules and manage staff attendance.
- Manage inventory and orders for the café, ensuring adequate supplies and timely delivery.
- Develop fresh and innovative menu options to meet customer demands and increase revenue.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and allergen processes, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments in the castle, such as events and facilities management, to enhance guest experience.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a café or coffee shop manager, with excellent leadership and management abilities.
- Proficient in cooking and menu development in a café environment.
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of food safety, health and safety, allergen processes, and compliance.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- IT savvy, with experience in point of sale systems and inventory management.
- Passionate about providing exceptional customer service and guest experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A creative and innovative approach to menu development and business operations.
Salary – up to £30,000 per annum
Hours – 40 hours a week, Wednesday-Sunday 8am-4pm.
